Step 1- Plan the still life

Step 2- Draw the outer sketch of the subject

Step 3- Draw the contour sketch of the subject- all the inside lines which are actually present and the lines caused by the effect of light

Step 4- Draw the shadow

Step 5- Get the tones in the order of Dark, Light and Medium (use smudging technique while creating tones)

Step 6- Apply the tones in the order of Dark, Medium and light

*Shadow will always be the darker version of the background
